Naturalist Association kestrel, ANAPRI, begins in April to track the breeding population of white stork (Ciconia ciconia) in the town of Colmenar Madrid Viejo.Este study will focus on the major breeding colonies of this bird, which are located in the Basilica, Junque Esteban Santiago Park and the urbanization of St. Crispin. Matesanz, ANAPRI ornithologist, "this study fulfill another aim of the partnership: the scientific studies. The aim is to deepen the knowledge of the fauna and flora of Colmenar Viejo and surrounding areas. " He adds: "In addition, we offer the possibility for all those interested to participate in the census."

has been working with the Department of Environment of the City of Colmenar Viejo, in the conduct of White Stork census since 2005.
This wader has experienced a remarkable growth in Colmenar, from the 40 pairs in 2005 to the 70 recorded in 2008.
