Emilia Sandoval, 2008 In this context the group MAMAZ (Women Artists and Corn), which has a resistance project focused on promoting peaceful critics as a means to raise awareness about the problem of food and corn, made a presentation y exibición titulada EL MAÍZ ES NUESTRA VIDA.
Sara Corestein, 2008 El colectivo MAMAZ, ejerce el derecho de crítica desde el campo del arte. Considera que la participación activa es necesaria, por lo que ha convocado a mujeres —artistas, artesanas y creativas en general— interesadas en hablar del tema de la alimentación y el maíz desde sus distintos campos de acción. Mediente la participación de diez artistas del colectivo y a través de diversos medios, confrontaron la historia, el mito, la importancia alimenticia, la alteración transgénica y el alza de precios del maíz.
